Our [credit cards guide](/credit-cards) explains how to judge any card. This review covers the **Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card**, India's best-known lifetime-free cashback card, and who it suits.

**Last updated: 5 November 2026.** Educational, not advice. ICICI's page says the card is invite-only, so check the Amazon app for an offer before applying.

## Amazon Pay ICICI at a glance

| Feature | Amazon Pay ICICI |
|---|---|
| Joining and annual fee | Nil |
| Amazon.in (Prime) | 5% |
| Amazon.in (non-Prime) | 3% |
| Amazon Pay partner merchants | 2% via "Login and Pay with Amazon" |
| Other spends | 1% |
| How rewards arrive | Amazon Pay balance, within 2 working days of cycle close |
| Caps and expiry | ICICI says unlimited and non-expiring |
| Forex markup | 1.99% |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver |
| Lounge access | None |
| Interest | 3.75% a month on balances carried |

## What the rewards are worth

Rewards come as Amazon Pay balance, not as a statement credit. That's worth face value if you shop on Amazon anyway or pay bills and merchants through Amazon Pay. It is less useful if you'd rather cut your card bill.

ICICI's page shows the rewards as reward points per INR 100 (5 for Prime, 3 for non-Prime, 2 at partners) and converts them to Amazon Pay balance, so 5 points per INR 100 means 5%.

## The maths

Say you're a Prime member who spends INR 8,000 a month on Amazon and INR 12,000 elsewhere, INR 2.4 lakh a year:

- Amazon: INR 96,000 x 5% = INR 4,800
- Other: INR 1.44 lakh x 1% = INR 1,440
- Year: **INR 6,240** in Amazon Pay balance, with no fee to recover

Without Prime the Amazon part falls to INR 2,880. The extra 2% is worth paying for Prime only if you spend more than Prime's annual cost divided by 0.02 on Amazon, or want Prime for delivery and video anyway.

## Who should get it

- **Amazon Prime households.** 5% with no fee and no published cap is hard to beat.
- **People who want a no-fee second card**, including for spending abroad at 1.99% markup.

## Who should skip it

- **People who shop across many sites.** [SBI Cashback](/articles/credit-cards/sbi-cashback-card-review) pays 5% online anywhere, up to INR 2,000 a cycle.
- **Flipkart and Myntra shoppers.** See [Flipkart Axis vs Flipkart SBI](/articles/credit-cards/flipkart-axis-vs-flipkart-sbi-credit-card).
- **Anyone who wants lounges or milestones.** This card has neither.
- **Anyone who carries a balance.** At 3.75% a month the interest wipes out the rewards; see [the minimum-due trap](/articles/credit-cards/credit-card-fees-and-minimum-due-trap).
