Our [credit cards guide](/credit-cards) explains how to judge any card. This review covers the **Axis Bank Atlas Credit Card**, an airline-agnostic miles card, using Axis's current feature terms.

**Last updated: 5 November 2026.** Educational, not advice. Axis has changed Atlas several times since 2024; check the card page before applying.

## Axis Atlas at a glance

| Feature | Axis Atlas |
|---|---|
| Annual fee | INR 5,000 + GST, no spend waiver |
| Welcome | 2,500 EDGE Miles on first transaction within 37 days |
| Travel earn | 5 EDGE Miles per INR 100 (Travel EDGE, direct airlines, direct hotels), up to INR 2 lakh a month |
| Other spends | 2 EDGE Miles per INR 100 |
| Milestones | 2,500 at INR 3 lakh; +2,500 at INR 7.5 lakh; +5,000 at INR 15 lakh |
| Renewal miles | 2,500 (Silver, Gold) or 5,000 (Platinum) on fee payment |
| Transfers | 1 EDGE Mile = 2 partner points; Marriott 2:1 |
| Transfer caps | 30,000 a year Group A; 1.2 lakh Group B; 1.5 lakh total |
| Forex markup | 3.5% |
| No miles or tier credit on | Gold and jewellery, rent, wallet, government, insurance, fuel, utilities and telecom |

## The tiers

Every new cardholder starts at **Silver**. Spend INR 7.5 lakh in your card anniversary year to reach **Gold**, and more than INR 15 lakh for **Platinum**. Tiers change lounge allowances and renewal miles, not earn rates.

| Tier | Domestic lounges | International lounges | Renewal miles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 8 | 4 | 2,500 |
| Gold | 12 | 6 | 2,500 |
| Platinum | 18 | 12 | 5,000 |

Lounge counts include guest visits. Axis's feature terms currently say the international lounge programme on Atlas is under maintenance, so check how to use international visits before you travel.

## Transfer partners and caps

Atlas pays best when you move miles to airline and hotel programmes at 1:2. Axis splits partners into two groups:

- **Group A** (30,000 EDGE Miles a year): Accor, Air Canada, Ethiopian, Etihad, Japan Airlines, Marriott Bonvoy, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways, United, Wyndham
- **Group B** (1.2 lakh EDGE Miles a year): Air France-KLM, Air India, AirAsia, ITC, IHG, Qantas, SpiceJet

Total transfers top out at 1.5 lakh EDGE Miles a calendar year. Axis can forfeit unredeemed miles 30 days after you close the card or once the minimum due is over 90 days late.

## The maths

Say you spend INR 3 lakh a year, half of it on flights and hotels booked direct:

- Travel: INR 1.5 lakh x 5/100 = 7,500 EDGE Miles
- Other: INR 1.5 lakh x 2/100 = 3,000
- Milestone at INR 3 lakh: 2,500
- Year one: 13,000 + 2,500 welcome = **15,500 EDGE Miles**, INR 15,500 on Travel EDGE
- Year two onward: 13,000 + 2,500 renewal miles = 15,500
- Fee: INR 5,900 with GST

That leaves about INR 9,600 net at INR 1 a mile, before lounges. Transferred at 1:2, the same miles become 31,000 partner points. Below INR 2 lakh a year, the fee is hard to recover.

## Who should get it

- **People who book flights and hotels direct** and spend INR 3 lakh or more a year.
- **People who will transfer miles** to Air India, Flying Blue or Singapore Airlines rather than use the portal.

## Who should skip it

- **Low spenders.** There is no fee waiver, so a INR 5,000 fee repeats every year.
- **People who spend a lot abroad.** The 3.5% forex markup is high; see [zero forex markup cards](/articles/credit-cards/best-zero-forex-credit-cards-india).
- **Loyal flyers of one airline.** A co-branded card may pay more; see [IndiGo cards compared](/articles/credit-cards/indigo-credit-cards-compared).
