Our [best credit cards for beginners](/articles/credit-cards/best-credit-cards-for-beginners) guide covers first cards in general. This review looks at the **Fibe Axis Bank credit card**, a lifetime-free co-branded card from Axis Bank and the lending app Fibe.

**Last updated: 31 October 2026.** Educational, not advice. Check Axis Bank's cashback terms for caps and exclusions before applying.

## Fibe Axis Bank card at a glance

| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | Nil |
| Annual fee | Nil |
| Food delivery, entertainment, local commute | 3% cashback |
| Other spends | 1% cashback |
| Lounge access | 4 domestic visits a calendar year |
| UPI | Can be linked to UPI |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on INR 400-INR 5,000, up to INR 400 a month |
| Extras | Dining discounts; Axis "Wednesday Delight" offers |

## The maths

Because the card is free, any cashback is profit. Say you spend:

- INR 4,000 a month on food delivery, cabs and movies -> 3% = INR 120
- INR 8,000 a month on everything else -> 1% = INR 80

That is **INR 200 a month, INR 2,400 a year**, with no fee to recover. Axis caps the 3% cashback each month and excludes some merchant categories, so check the terms if you spend much more in the 3% categories.

## How it compares

- **[Axis Ace](/credit-cards/axis-bank/ace):** higher rates on bill payments and Google Pay, but an annual fee.
- **[IDFC FIRST Millennia](/credit-cards/idfc-first/millennia):** another lifetime-free option; see our [IDFC FIRST lifetime-free guide](/articles/credit-cards/idfc-first-lifetime-free-starter-guide).
- **[Paytm AU RuPay](/articles/credit-cards/paytm-au-rupay-credit-card-review):** lifetime free and built around Paytm UPI.

## Who should get it

- **Young professionals and students with income** who order food and take cabs often.
- **Anyone who wants a free second card** with domestic lounge access.

## Who should skip it

- **People who want rewards on bills and rent.** Look at a card built for those categories.
- **Anyone who carries a balance.** A free card can still be expensive if you pay only the minimum; see [the minimum-due trap](/articles/credit-cards/credit-card-fees-and-minimum-due-trap).
