Punjab National Bank (PNB) has revised several credit card charges from **1 November 2026**. The notice covers its **VISA and RuPay credit card variants**, not just the PNB EaseMyTrip card. This page puts the old and new fees side by side and shows how to avoid most of them. - **Starts 1 Nov 2026** on PNB's VISA and RuPay credit cards.
- **Costlier:** cash withdrawals, late payment on bigger dues, bounced payments.
- **New fees:** INR 99 per reward redemption; 1% on utility payments above INR 50,000 a cycle.
- **Avoid most of it:** pay in full on time, keep auto-debit funded, don't withdraw cash on the card.

## Worked examples

<div data-callout="note" data-title="Cash withdrawal of INR 10,000">

- At a PNB ATM: 2.5% is INR 250, so the **minimum INR 400** applies. Before, it would have been 2% (INR 200) or the variant minimum.
- At another bank's ATM: **INR 500** (minimum). Plus GST, and interest usually runs from the day of withdrawal.
- On a INR 40,000 withdrawal: 2.5% is **INR 1,000**, which is above the minimum.

</div>

<div data-callout="note" data-title="Late payment on a INR 12,000 bill">

- Before: INR 750 (above INR 10,000).
- Now: **INR 1,000** (INR 10,000-INR 50,000 slab).
- On a INR 60,000 bill it is now **INR 1,200**.

</div>

<div data-callout="note" data-title="Utility payments of INR 60,000 in one cycle">

Total utility spends cross INR 50,000, so the 1% fee applies: about **INR 600** (capped at INR 2,000 per transaction). At INR 50,000 or less there's no fee. The notice says the fee applies once the cycle total exceeds INR 50,000; check your statement for exactly how PNB calculates it.

## How to avoid these charges

1. **Pay the full bill by the due date.** The late fee and interest are the expensive ones. See [the minimum due trap](/articles/credit-cards/credit-card-fees-and-minimum-due-trap).
2. **Never withdraw cash on a credit card** unless it's an emergency. Use a debit card or UPI.
3. **Keep your auto-debit account funded.** A bounced payment now costs at least INR 400 plus GST, and usually a late fee too.
4. **Batch reward redemptions.** At INR 99 per request, redeem once in a while, not every month.
5. **Big utility bills?** If yours cross INR 50,000 a cycle, pay part through net banking or UPI.
6. **Switch to e-statements** to avoid the INR 50 duplicate statement charge.
