# Reliance SBI Card Review: Reliance SBI Card vs PRIME for AJIO and JioMart

Accelerated points exclude UPI payments on both cards.

## What the points are worth

SBI Card's page does not put a rupee value on these points. On several other SBI cards, 4 points equal INR 1 (INR 0.25 a point). If that rate applies, 10 points per INR 100 is **2.5%** on AJIO and JioMart, and PRIME's 20 points is **5%**. Redeeming against Reliance Retail vouchers is the obvious use; check the rate on the redemption page before you count on it.

## The maths

**Base card, INR 80,000 a year at Reliance stores, half on AJIO/JioMart:**

- Welcome voucher: INR 500
- Milestone vouchers: INR 2,250
- Points: 40,000 x 10/100 + 40,000 x 5/100 = 6,000 points, about INR 1,500 at INR 0.25
- Total: about **INR 4,250** against a INR 499 fee (INR 589 with GST)

**PRIME, INR 3 lakh a year, half on AJIO/JioMart:**

- Welcome voucher: INR 3,000 (first year)
- Milestone vouchers: INR 8,750
- Points: 1.5 lakh x 20/100 + 1.5 lakh x 10/100 = 45,000 points, about INR 11,250 at INR 0.25
- Movie tickets: up to INR 3,000 a year
- Fee: reversed at INR 3 lakh

PRIME only makes sense if you will genuinely spend INR 3 lakh a year, much of it at Reliance. Otherwise the fee is INR 2,999 plus GST each year, and the milestone vouchers are locked to Reliance stores.

## Who should get it

- **Regular AJIO, JioMart or Reliance Digital shoppers.** The base card pays for itself with the welcome voucher.
- **Families with a large Reliance grocery and electronics bill.** PRIME's milestones add up quickly at INR 3 lakh.

## Who should skip it

- **People who pay by UPI at Reliance stores.** UPI doesn't earn the accelerated points.
