IPO investments can lose money, including on listing day. Read the [red herring prospectus](https://www.sebi.gov.in/sebi_data/attachdocs/oct-2026/1792045029108.pdf) before you bid, and speak to a SEBI-registered adviser if you need personal advice.

## Where to check Jio IPO allotment status

The RHP names **KFin Technologies Limited** as the registrar to the issue. NSE is the designated stock exchange, so the basis of allotment is finalised with NSE.

| Where | Link | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Registrar: KFin Technologies | [ipostatus.kfintech.com](https://ipostatus.kfintech.com/) | Select "Jio Platforms Limited", then PAN, application number or demat account (DP ID / client ID) |
| BSE | [bseindia.com/investors/appli_check.aspx](https://www.bseindia.com/investors/appli_check.aspx) | Issue type "Equity", issue name, then application number or PAN |
| NSE | [nseindia.com: check trades, bids and verify IPO bids](https://www.nseindia.com/invest/check-trades-bids-verify-ipo-bids) | PAN, application number and symbol JPL |

The issue may not appear in the drop-downs until allotment is final. If one site is slow on allotment day, try another; they draw on the same records.

### Step by step on KFin

1. Open [ipostatus.kfintech.com](https://ipostatus.kfintech.com/).
2. Choose **Jio Platforms Limited** from the "Select IPO" list.
3. Pick one: **PAN**, **application number** or **demat account**.
4. Enter it, fill in the captcha and submit.
5. You see the number of shares applied for and allotted. Save a screenshot.

Your broker app (Zerodha, Groww, Upstox and others) usually shows the result too, but the registrar and exchanges are the official sources.

## How allotment works in each category

How likely you are to get shares depends on how heavily your category is subscribed. Track it on our [subscription status page](/articles/ipo/jio-ipo-subscription-status).

<div data-viz="tiers" data-id="jio-bid-bands">Retail: up to INR 2 lakh, 1-14 lots; one lot per allottee by lottery if oversubscribed. Small NII: INR 2-10 lakh, 15-74 lots; big NII: above INR 10 lakh, 75 lots or more; in both NII buckets each allottee gets at least 15 lots, by lottery if oversubscribed.</div>

### Retail investors: the lottery

The RHP says each retail allottee gets **at least the minimum bid lot** (12 shares), subject to availability, and the remaining shares are allotted proportionately. The retail portion has 8,50,37,327 shares, about **70.86 lakh lots** (our calculation).

- **Fewer applicants than lots:** everyone gets at least one lot, and larger bids get more, in proportion.
- **More applicants than lots:** a computerised draw of lots, supervised by NSE, picks who gets one lot. Losers get nothing. Bidding for 14 lots instead of 1 does not improve your odds.

Multiple bids from the same PAN in the same category are rejected.

### Small NII and big NII

Each successful non-institutional investor gets **at least the minimum NII application size**, the smallest bid above INR 2 lakh. At INR 1,119 that is **15 lots (180 shares, INR 2,01,420)**, in both the small NII (INR 2-10 lakh) and big NII (above INR 10 lakh) buckets. If there are more applicants than such minimum blocks, a lottery decides who gets 180 shares; any shares left over are allotted proportionately. That is why a INR 10 lakh bid and a INR 2 lakh bid often end up with the same 180 shares in a heavily oversubscribed issue. Details: [HNI quota explained](/articles/ipo/jio-ipo-hni-nii-quota).

### RIL shareholders and employees

These portions are allotted **proportionately**, subject to the minimum lot, not by lottery. If the shareholder portion is subscribed 3 times, a shareholder gets roughly a third of the shares bid for, rounded to lots. If you bid in both the shareholder and retail quotas, the two bids are allotted separately. See [how to bid in both quotas](/articles/ipo/apply-jio-ipo-shareholder-and-retail-quota).

## UPI mandate and unblocking of funds

When you bid with UPI, you approve a **mandate** that blocks the bid amount in your bank account. Nothing is debited until allotment.

| Result | What happens to your money | When (indicative) |
|---|---|---|
| Fully allotted | The amount for the allotted shares is debited; the rest of the block is released | ~27 Oct 2026 |
| Partly allotted | Only the amount for the allotted shares is debited | ~27 Oct 2026 |
| Not allotted | The mandate is revoked and the full amount is unblocked | ~27 Oct 2026 |
| Bid rejected | The full amount is unblocked | ~27 Oct 2026 |

You may get an SMS from your bank or a notification in your UPI app when the block is lifted. For ASBA bids through net banking, the bank releases the block the same way.

## If you are not allotted

- **Nothing to do.** Your money is unblocked automatically. Check your bank balance or UPI app's mandate section on or after 27 October.
- **If the money is still blocked by 28 October,** contact your bank first (the self-certified syndicate bank, or the UPI app's bank). Then write to the registrar, KFin Technologies, at **jioplatforms.ipo@kfintech.com** with your name, PAN, application number, UPI ID, bid amount and bank. KFin's investor grievance address is einward.ris@kfintech.com.
- **You can still buy after listing.** Shares trade on NSE and BSE from about 28 October, at the market price, which may be above or below INR 1,119.
- **SEBI SCORES** is the escalation route if the registrar or bank does not resolve a complaint.

## If you are allotted

- Shares should show in your demat on or about **27 October**, and trading should start on or about **28 October 2026**.
- Selling within 12 months makes any gain short-term: see [tax on IPO listing gains](/articles/ipo/ipo-listing-gains-tax).
- The final issue price and listing details will be on the [Jio IPO hub](/articles/ipo/jio-ipo) once filed.
