## Plain-English notes

Car insurance has three layers: third-party liability, own-damage, and comprehensive cover. Third-party is the legal minimum. Comprehensive is usually better when repairs, theft, flood damage, or total loss would hurt your finances.

Do not compare only premium. Check IDV, add-ons, deductibles, garages, NCB, and claim steps. EVs need a separate comparison because battery, charger, motor, towing, and specialist repair risks are different.
