Hospitalisation
Admission to hospital, usually for at least 24 consecutive hours.
Under the standard definition used in policy wordings, hospitalisation means admission for at least 24 consecutive in-patient care hours. Shorter stays are covered only as day care treatment, unless a plan's add-on relaxes the rule.
